But there are some cases where Mac computers continue to boot into Safe Mode, even though everything is in normal condition.

The Reseapedia team will share several ways to check Mac computers that are always stuck in Safe Mode. See right away!

1. Check the Shift Button on the Keyboard

How to enter Safe Mode is to press and hold the Shift key. So you will boot into Safe Mode with the same text at the top right of the screen.

It could be that you accidentally always go into Safe Mode because the problem on the keyboard is that the Shift key is continuously pressed.

How do you check this? Please log in to the Desktop and open the application to type, it can be Notes or TextEdit. Please press Option + K. If the Shift key is always pressed, the combination will be Shift + Option + K, which means it will display the symbol of the Apple logo ().

But if the one that appears is a degree symbol (˚), then the Shift key is not in a continuous press mode.

Solution?

To clear the jammed keyboard, please clean it with a blower that is usually used to clean digital cameras.

If it still doesn't work, please take it to a technician to check further by opening the keyboard or please find the guide on iFixit.

2. Reset NVRAM

NVRAM (Nonvolatile Random Access Memory) is memory that Mac computers use to store small settings and access quickly. You can Reset NVRAM if you find obstacles such as Volume settings, screen resolution, Time Zone and several others.

Please Reset NVRAM with the following procedure:

  1. Turn off the Mac computer.
  2. Turn on the Mac computer by pressing and holding the Option + Command + P + R.
  3. Keep pressing the combination until you hear the sound of the startup ("DONG") up to 2x. If you use a Mac computer with Apple T2 Chip, wait for the Apple logo to appear and disappear from the screen 2x.

For the record, Reset NVRAM can only be done if the Firmware Password settings are turned off. Please check the full explanation in the Apple Support article.
